Integratie is een actualiteit die enerzijds als normaal gezien wordt, en anderzijds als een soap serie bekeken, gevolgd, en beschreven wordt. Integration is a topicality wich is viewed normal on one hand, and on the other hand seen, followed and discribed like a soap serie. In Nederland is homoseksualiteit vrijwel volledig aanvaard en is experimenteren met vriendinnen bijna een soort hype. 'It just tastes better' verbeeldt ook de talloze boeken, verhalen en films die geschreven zijn over de aantrekkingskracht, de uitdaging en de romantiek die een internationale relatie met zich mee brengt.

Coming out of the closet is a taboo, if not an offence in many -for example Eastern European- countries. Homosexuality is completely accepted in The Netherlands and experimenting with a girlfriend is almost sort of a hype. 'It just tastes better' also represents the numerous books, stories and movies writen about the attraction, the challenge and the romance that an international relationship brings along.

Zijn the exhibitionistische red light district en de borsten die in iedere Hollandse film ontbloot moeten worden typisch Hollands? Of de onophoudende regen? Is 'doe maar normaal dan doe je al gek genoeg' het enige dat we de buitenlander kunnen meegeven?? 'Zeeuws meisje??' Verbeeld deze verbazing en verwarring van verwachtingen.

But what is that typical Dutch identity then? Is that the Zeeuwse female? Or the ideal housewife portrayed in the 50s? Are the exhibitionist red light district and the naked breasts in every Dutch movie typical Dutch?? Or the non stoppable rain? Is ' Act normal then your acting crazy enough' the only thing we can hand the foreign person?? 'Zeeuws meisje??' portrays this astonishment and confusion of expectations.
